About Window Stickers
A window sticker is a legally required label displayed on all new vehicles in the U.S. It contains key details about the car, including its manufacturer, features, optional equipment, and available packages. This sticker is typically affixed to the driver’s side window or windshield.
The Automobile Information Disclosure Act of 1958, spearheaded by Oklahoma Senator Mike Monroney, led to its implementation. In May 2011, the NHTSA and EPA revised the requirements, mandating that all 2013 and newer models include estimated fuel or electricity usage per 100 miles. This update is particularly important for electric, plug-in hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell, flexible-fuel, and natural gas vehicles manufactured in the U.S.
